Terms & conditions
The terms that apply when RRC Motor Mechanics & Suspensions works on your vehicle.
1. Quotes and inspections
We give you a quote before repair work starts. A quote is based on what we can see and test at the time. Some faults only show once parts are removed, so a first quote may change. If it does, we contact you before doing more.
Where finding a fault takes time (for example electrical faults or strip-downs), we tell you upfront whether the inspection or diagnosis is charged.
2. Authorising work
We only do work you have approved, by phone, WhatsApp, in writing or in person. If we find something else that needs attention, we tell you what it is and what it costs, and only go ahead once you agree.
3. Parts
We fit new parts unless we agree otherwise with you. If you ask for used or customer-supplied parts, we can’t give a warranty on those parts, or on labour that has to be redone because they failed. Replaced parts are available for you to see or take when you collect the vehicle, if you ask before the work starts.
4. Payment
Payment is due when you collect the vehicle, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Larger jobs, special-order parts or engine rebuilds may need a deposit, which we tell you about before ordering. The vehicle is released once the invoice is paid in full.
5. Collection
We let you know when your vehicle is ready. Please collect it promptly. Vehicles left for a long time after we’ve told you they’re ready may be charged storage, which we will tell you about first.
6. Warranty
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act apply to our work. Parts we supply and fit, and the labour to fit them, are covered against defects for at least three months or 5 000 km, whichever comes first, unless a longer warranty is stated on your invoice. If something we did fails, bring the vehicle back to us so we can inspect it first.
The warranty doesn’t cover wear and tear, damage from accidents, misuse or neglect, repairs done elsewhere afterwards, or parts you supplied.
7. Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel a booking at any time before work starts, at no charge. If you cancel after work has started, you pay for the work done and any parts already ordered or fitted that can’t be returned to the supplier. Refunds for paid amounts that are due back to you are made by the same method you paid, within 14 days.
8. Liability
We take reasonable care of vehicles in our workshop. Please remove valuables before dropping off the vehicle. We are not responsible for faults that already existed and weren’t part of the work we did. Road-testing may be needed to diagnose or check a repair, and you agree that we may do so.
9. Contact
